Physician Associates (PAs) are medically trained, generalist healthcare professionals, who work alongside doctors and provide medical care as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
Our physician associates work with our GPs and provide many types of care for patients. They are clinically trained healthcare professionals and work under the supervision of experienced doctors but they can work autonomously with appropriate support.
Their duties include
- taking medical histories from patients
- performing physical examinations
- diagnosing illnesses
- seeing patients with long-term chronic conditions
- performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- analysing test results
- developing management plans
- provide health promotion and disease prevention advice for patients.
