Urology Awareness Month 2026: Worth its weight in GOLD!

Worth its Weight in GOLD!

September is Urology Awareness Month and this year The Urology Foundation is launching ‘Worth its Weight in Gold’, a national awareness campaign designed to spark conversations around one of the most overlooked indicators of our health: urine. We would love your support!

Why it’s important

Every day, millions of people flush away valuable clues about what’s happening inside their bodies. Despite its importance, many people still feel embarrassed talking about urine or urinary symptoms. As a result, symptoms are often dismissed, ignored or hidden away, delaying conversations with healthcare professionals.

That’s why we want everyone to rethink urine.

Not as waste.

As wisdom.

By recognising the value of urine, we want people get to know their
bodies, act earlier, seek advice sooner and have better outcomes.

Our message is clear:

Take control. Check your urine.

The Pee Checker

Urine is a useful indicator of your health and its important to keep an eye on what’s normal, know the warning signs and recognise when to take action.

That’s why we’re publishing ‘The Pee Checker’. It’s a quick guide that helps people know what to look for and when to take action.

Make it a habit to check your urine!
