Childhood Vaccinations

The NHS has a vaccination schedule that they recommend for every child registered under the NHS.  These vaccinations are recommended to take place at the following times;

  • Babies at 8 weeks – 6 in 1 vaccine, Rotavirus vaccine, MenB vaccine
  • Babies at 12 weeks – 6 in 1 vaccine (2nd dose), Pneumococcal vaccine, Rotavirus vaccine (2nd dose)
  • Babies at 16 weeks – 6 in 1 vaccine (3rd dose), MenB vaccine (2nd dose)
  • 1 Year Olds – Hib/Men C vaccine (1st dose), MMR Vaccine (1st dose), Pneumococcal vaccine (2nd dose), MenB vaccine (3rd dose)
  • 3 years and 4 months – MMR Vaccine (2nd dose), 4 in 1 pre-school booster vaccine
  • 12/13 year olds – HPV vaccine
  • 14 year olds – Td/IPV vaccine (3 in 1 teenage booster), MenACWY vaccine
  • Yearly Children’s flu vaccine from age 2-15 years

It’s important that vaccines are given on time for the best protection, but if  child has missed a vaccine then please contact your GP practice for advice.

If you are new to the country then please provide a copy of your child’s vaccination to your GP practice so that this information can be added to your child’s record and catch up vaccinations can be arranged.
