Nursing associates

Our nursing associates are members of our practice nursing teams. They help bridge the gap between health care assistants (HCA) and registered nurses. They support the work of registered nurses, focusing on core nursing tasks and also carry out health checks and support for patients with complex conditions such as dementia, mental health conditions, and learning disabilities.

Nursing associates work with people of all ages, in a variety of settings in health and social care. Their role contributes to the core work of nursing, freeing up registered nurses to focus on more complex clinical care.

Nursing Associates are regulated by the NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council)
